About the event
Overwhelmed? Stuck in a cycle of stress, tension, and racing thoughts?
If stress is running your life — affecting your sleep, your mood, your focus, your body — you're not alone. And if you've tried meditation, yoga, or breathing exercises and still can't turn it off — here's what works when the trying itself has become the problem.
Rest Reset is a weekly guided group hypnosis experience led by Marija Mikolajczak, designed to bring your nervous system out of fight-or-flight and back to a settled baseline. A regulated nervous system is the foundation every other practice gets built on, magical work included.
On Saturday, July 11, sound healer Alejandro Fuentes joins with didgeridoo and drum. His live sound will weave through the guided hypnosis — drone underneath, rhythm where it serves the descent. The session runs 90 minutes instead of the usual hour.
You'll settle in with a cup of herbal tea and be guided into a deep state of trance through hypnosis and gentle energy work (Reiki). You don't have to do anything. You don't have to learn anything. You just arrive, sit down, and let go.
Stop trying to relax. Just let it happen.
Trying to relax is what keeps most of us tight. That's the paradox Rest Reset works with — hypnosis walks you into the state your body already knows how to reach, and holds you there long enough for it to matter.
Most people leave saying they feel deeply calm, lighter, and more like themselves than they have in weeks.
How is this different from a guided meditation or a sound bath?
Guided meditation, sound baths, and hypnosis are close cousins. All three aim for the same state — a mind quiet enough to rest, a nervous system out of alert.
The difference shows up when the mind won't cooperate.
Most guided meditations and sound baths ask you to notice your thoughts and let them pass, or to let the sound carry you into stillness. That works if your mind is willing. If your mind is looping — replaying conversations, cycling through the to-do list, running arguments you're not having — those invitations can slide right off.
Hypnosis is built for exactly that. The paradox at the center: stop trying to relax. Just let it happen.
Over time, regular sessions help you:
• Sleep more deeply and wake up rested
• Break the cycle of overthinking, tension, and emotional reactivity
• Manage physical symptoms of chronic stress — headaches, fatigue, tightness, pain
• Build real, lasting resilience
What to expect when you arrive
You'll be welcomed into a small, intimate group (8 people max) at Artemisia Integrative Wellness Center in Stamford, CT. There's tea. There's calm. You follow along in your mind. That's all.
You'll be seated comfortably while Marija — clinical hypnotherapist and Reiki Master — guides you into a deeply restorative state using hypnosis and gentle energy healing. Alejandro's didgeridoo and drum will weave through the session. The experience runs about 90 minutes. You leave calmer, quieter, more like yourself.
Can I be hypnotized?
Yes. Hypnosis is the same trance state mystics, healers, and contemplatives have entered for as long as people have had bodies — we just have a clinical name for it now. If you've ever gotten lost in a book, zoned out during a drive, or drifted off during a movie, you've already experienced the natural state hypnosis works with. No special skills needed. Just a willingness to sit down and let someone help you feel better.
Whether you're brand new to hypnosis or have experienced it before, this session is designed to meet you where you are.

Marija Mikolajczak
Clinical hypnotherapist and Reiki Master. Marija runs Rest Reset weekly at Artemisia Integrative Wellness Center in Stamford, and works one-on-one on stress, sleep, chronic pain, and the underlying patterns that keep the nervous system running hot. Alejandro Fuentes
Sound healer based in Westchester County, NY. Alejandro plays didgeridoo and drum, and received his certificate from the Sound Healing Academy in Brooklyn in 2025. The didgeridoo — an ancient instrument of the Aboriginal peoples of Australia, traditionally used in ceremony, storytelling, and shamanic healing — carries a low resonant drone that many hear as the voice of Mother Earth. Alejandro discovered it in 2019 and has been practicing daily since. He performs sound baths for healing centers across the region and offers private sound healing and lessons.
